PAGE IN DRAFT - TO BE APPROVED
Households with wheelie bin collections have a 180-litre black wheelie for their general waste.
If your waste is not in the wheelie bin, it will not be collected. We will not collect extra sacks or side waste.
Your waste bin is only for items that cannot be recycled. This includes:
- Nappies, sanitary products,
- Tissues and wet wipes
- Pet waste and cat litter
- Plastic bags, wrapping and clear film
- Polystyrene, bubble wrap and foam packaging
- Crockery, ceramics and other types of glass, including window glass, perfume bottles, and Pyrex
- Dust, vacuum contents and sweeping waste
- Toothbrushes, plastic toys and non-recyclable plastics
- Fireplace, stove and BBQ ashes - these must be cold and bagged
Food waste, garden waste and recyclable items should not be placed in your general waste bin.
Putting your bin out
We collect general waste every other week. View your waste collection day.
Put your bin out by 7am on your collection day and leave it out until 4pm or until we have emptied it.
Leave the bin at the edge of your property, next to the road or your agreed collection point.
REMEMBER: Different vehicles will collect your wheelie bins and food waste at different times of day, and times may change from week to week.
- Let us know if there is a fault or problem and you need to order a new wheelie bin.
- If you are unable to put your bin out for collection and return it afterwards due to health or mobility reasons, you can apply for an assisted collection.
- Report a missed recycling collection.
