Website monitoring

To assist in on going site development, we use monitoring software for the purposes of recording the number of visitors to the site and the most frequently visited pages. We do not use the software to identify these visitors nor keep records of their personal email addresses.

Any information you give to us while using our website, by email, through online forms or through My Account will be held securely and in accordance with the data protection principles. We will treat personal details as private and confidential and safeguard them. We will not disclose them to anyone unconnected with the council unless you have consented to their release, or in certain circumstances where:

  • we are legally obliged to do so

  • disclosure is necessary for the proper discharge of our statutory functions

  • disclosure is necessary to enable us to provide you with a requested service or deal with your enquiry

  • we are under a duty to protect public funds.

We may use the information you have provided for the prevention and detection of fraud. We may also share this information with other bodies responsible for public funds or for auditing them for these purposes.

If you register through My Account, we will retain the personal information you have provided and record information about the services you use and your requests. We may contact you by email about your requests and about services, information and events of interest provided by the Council and our partners but if you wish to opt out of these emails then you can advise us at any time by emailing unsubscribe@sevenoaks.gov.uk
