Young people aged 11 to 18 who live or attend a school in the Sevenoaks District can access our mentoring scheme. Those who join can engage with an adult mentor, get involved in activities, and, where needed, access mental health support, including counselling.
The scheme is delivered by the following partners:
RightMind counselling
Any young person on our mentoring scheme can request six-weeks of one-to-one counselling provided by RightMind. This can take place in Sevenoaks, Swanley or Hartley.
The House in the Basement
Located in the basement of the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, ‘The House in the Basement’ offers a friendly place for anyone aged 11 to 19 to go, hang out and relax with plenty of things going on including regular activities and day trips.
Millwall Community Trust
The Millwall Community Trust uses the power of sport to provide sporting, education, social and healthy lifestyle opportunities. Mentoring support programmes for individuals and small groups are provided via a team of experienced professional tutors, mentors and coaches. There is also sport and employability vocational qualification and matchday experience opportunities including stadium tours and access to the Millwall Community Trust Lion Centre.
The Layberry Foundation
Using volunteer mentors, the Layberry Foundation works with young people in their communities, helping them to link into local groups and activities and improve their confidence and self-esteem. Young people who join the mentoring scheme can enjoy lots of activities, including visits to the Foundation’s tranquil farm, which is home to peacocks, geese, chickens, horses and sometimes wild deer.
