Congratulations to everyone who was nominated at our ‘Making it Happen’ Community and Voluntary awards. It was a fantastic evening filled with community heroes and celebrity guests. A big thank you to Dr Hilary Jones and Tom Hart-Dyke for presenting some of the awards.

This year’s winners and highly commended were:

Charity Project of the Year

  • Winner - DAVSS (Domestic Abuse Volunteer Support Service)
  • Highly Commended - Frances Andrews Memorial Trust

Community Arts Group of the Year

  • Winner - Sevenoaks Literary Festival

Community Sports Group of the Year

  • Winner - Chipstead Sailing Club
  • Highly Commended - Steve Wells and Crockenhill Pétanque

Youth Group/Project of the Year

  • Winner - The HOUSE project Edenbridge
  • Highly Commended - Autism & ADHD Parent Support Group

Local Hero under 18

Health and Wellbeing Project of the Year

  • Winners - D'Vine Singers

Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Winner – Jan Berry
  • Highly Commended - Clare Fallows

There was also a special mention to Michael Brown and Rebecca Daly, who sadly passed away before the awards took place. Their certificates were collected by their family members.
