Name the food waste truck school competition

Terms and conditions

  1. Promoter: Sevenoaks District Council, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 1HG
  2. Entrants shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
  3. The competition is open to all primary school pupils who attend school in the Sevenoaks District.
  4. Entries must be submitted via a schoolteacher using the Council's website form
  5. By entering the competition, the school is giving permission for the class to enter the competition
  6. Each school class may submit one entry. If a class submits more than one entry, only the first will be accepted
  7. The winning class name and the school may be used on promotional material in relation to the Council's 'Name the food waste truck' campaign.
  8. The winning names will be added to the front of a food waste collection vehicle. The name of the winning schools and class will not be included on the vehicle.
  9. Incomplete entries and entries received after the competition closing date will not be accepted.
  10. Entries will be considered by a panel of Sevenoaks District Council Councillors and staff against the judging criteria. The winning decisions are final.
  11. Sevenoaks District Council will not accept any appeals.
  12. Sevenoaks District Council will not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by Sevenoaks District Council.
  13. Sevenoaks District Council reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition in the event of supervening events outside of its control
  14. Sevenoaks District Council shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/privacy, and in accordance with the data protection legislation. By entering the competition, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact the winners.
  15. Sevenoaks District Council does not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the entrant as a result of entering the competition. Sevenoaks District Council further disclaims liability of any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the competition. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude the liability of Sevenoaks District Council for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.
  16. Sevenoaks District Council reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this competition without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of Sevenoaks District Council in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence with be entered into.
  17. Sevenoaks District Council shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
