Police and Crime Commissioner Election – 2 May 2024

The Police and Crime Commissioner election for the Kent Police area will take place on Thursday 2 May 2024. 

The Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) is responsible for the Police and Crime Commissioner election in Kent and is based at Gravesham Borough Council.

Change of Polling Station

Please note that if you usually vote at the ACF Hall, Swanley Lane, BR8 7BU (elector numbers beginning CN), there has been a change to your polling station for this election. Instead of the ACF Hall, your polling station will be the Christ Church Centre, Kingswood Avenue, BR8 8AN.

 

Key Dates

Registration deadline - Tuesday 16 April 2024 at midnight

Postal vote application deadline and deadline to amend an existing proxy vote arrangement - Wednesday 17 April 2024 at 5pm

Delivery of postal votes - postal votes will be sent out between 16 April and 24 April 2024

Proxy vote deadline (not proxy postal or emergency proxy) - Wednesday 24 April 2024 at 5pm

Voter Authority Certificate application deadline - Wednesday 24 April 2024 at 5pm

Polling day (between 7am and 10pm) - Thursday 2 May 2024


The deadlines to register to vote for this election, to apply for a postal vote, proxy vote or Voter Authority Certificate have now passed.

If you find that you are unable to go to the polling station after 5pm on 24 April, you may be eligible for an emergency proxy vote. If you need a paper application form please contact Electoral Services using the contact details at the bottom of the page.


If you choose to vote in a polling station please remember to bring your photo ID.

If you choose to vote by post, there are new rules that apply to handing in a postal vote at the Council Offices or at polling stations on polling day.
