Grants worth up to £2,000 are available for retailers, based in the Sevenoaks District, to help them improve and grow.
The grants can support:
- Enhancements to existing shopfronts
- New or enhanced seating areas
- Creating a new website or improvements to an existing website
- Buying shop furniture and fittings, including commercial fridge or freezers, cooking facilities, flooring or storage for merchandise
- Accessibility improvements, this could include non-slip flooring or better disabled and wheelchair access
- Items that improve the layout or visual merchandising
- Staff training to help expand sales channels, such as online services
- Hosting an in-store event or workshop
- Enhancements or the installation of anti-theft systems.
To stand the best chance of being awarded a grant, your project should:
- Demonstrate a clear business need or opportunity
- Identify long-term, sustainable benefits
- Have clear, measurable outcomes (for example, reaching to new customers or increased footfall)
- Demonstrate how the impact of your project will be evaluated.
Retail enhancement grants are funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
