Housing Policy consultations | Sevenoaks District Council

Housing Policy consultations

We are updating three important housing policies. We want to hear from the public, including people who are or have been on our Housing Register, and housing partner organisations on our proposed changes to the policies.

All three survey are open until midnight on Sunday 30 August 2026.

Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Strategy

This policy sets out how we will offer more targeted support to residents who are a risk or becoming homeless or who have become homeless.

Draft Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy

This Policy sets out how we will work to improve standards in privately rented homes, respond to complaints, support landlords and agents, and how and when we will take enforcement action where necessary.

Draft Tenancy Strategy

Our Tenancy Strategy sets out our expectations for housing associations operating within the Sevenoaks District.

It provides guidance on the types of tenancies that should be offered, how tenancy reviews and renewals should be managed, and how social housing can be used to meet local housing needs.

Is also promotes a fair and consistent approach to tenancy management across the District.
