Cllr Julia Thornton, Leader of Sevenoaks District Council says: “Though we cannot begin to imagine the extent of suffering, we are sending our deepest condolences to every family who has been affected, and also to anyone in the Sevenoaks District who has suffered loss, or is worried about relatives and friends caught up in the conflict.”
“Sevenoaks District Council, as a local authority, has no power to resolve the situation in Gaza. However, in line with statements already made by the UK Government and the United Nations General Assembly, we urge for a diplomatic solution to bring the conflict to an end, avoid further loss of innocent life and bring lasting peace to the area.”
