Collection days
From Monday 12 October, we introduced alternate weekly waste collections for most households. This means your recycling is collected once every two weeks, and your general waste is collected once every two weeks on the alternate week to your recycling collection.
Food waste will continue to be collected weekly.

Changes to garden waste collections
To support the change to alternate weekly waste collections, we are aligning general waste and garden waste collection weeks.
This means that, from 12 October, garden waste will be collected on the same day as general waste, and some customers will have a new collection week.
If you use garden waste sacks, collections will be suspended for one week, from 12 to 16 October. Please do not put your garden waste sacks out during this week, as they will not be collected.
Report a missed collection
Food waste, general waste, recycling and garden waste are collected by different trucks, normally at different times. Collection days may change around bank holidays.
You can report a missed collection after 4pm on your collection day. We may still be collecting waste until this time.
We will only investigate a missed collection reported within one working day after your collection day. If you are reporting later than this, please wait until our next planned collection day to have your waste removed.
There are several reasons why your waste and recycling may not have been collected. Before reporting a missed collection, please check the following:
- Your bins or sacks were put out before 7am
- Your bins or sacks were placed at your property boundary
- There have been no collection date changes, such as bank holidays
- The crew have not put a sticker by your bins or sack explaining why it was not emptied
- This missed collection has not already been reported to us via phone or email
