Bradbourne Lakes naming competition

As part of our £2.1 million ‘Bradbourne Re-bourne’ project, we're working with the local community, park visitors and schools to come up with names for the five lakes.

During the summer 2025, we ran a lakes naming competition. We had dozens of entries and after carefully consideration, we decided on these five winning entries:

  • Lake 1 will be named 'Aurea'. Winning entry from Matthew Ball from Sevenoaks History Hub
  • Lake 2 will be named 'Lake Attenborough'. Winning entry from Duncan Dwinell, local resident and retired teacher
  • Lake 3 will be named 'Lady Margaret'. Winning entry from Lady Boswell’s C.E. Primary School
  • Lake 4 will be named 'The Boating Lake'. Winning entry from Tamsin Peacock, local resident.
  • Lake 5 will be named 'Wildreserve Lake'. Winning entry from John-Paul Chapman, local resident.

The winners will be invited to the lakes opening ceremony with the winning lake names included on new park signage.
