The deadline to comment on the Bradbourne Lakes improvements has now passed.
Planning application
A planning application was submitted covering works to the five lakes and anything within one metre of lake edges. Planning permission was granted on 19 February 2026.
The planning application was based on the Bradbourne Re-bourne Landscape Report and further surveys carried out during the development stage of the project. The Bradbourne Re-bourne Landscape Report was drawn up following widespread consultation with local people and visitors who wanted us to desilt the lakes, repair the lake edges, broken structures and paths, cut back overgrown vegetation and make changes to support wildlife.
The planning application did not include certain proposed improvements, such as tree works and the new playground - anything more than one metre from each lake edges as these will be carried out under permitted development rights.
