Public Space Protection Orders

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) give us and the Police additional powers to protect public spaces from persistent anti-social or unwelcome behaviour.

Breach of an order may result in a fixed penalty of £500, or an offender can be summoned to appear in court.

PSPOs can be extended, discharged or varied after or during their three-year period.

What does a PSPO mean for me?

Most people won’t be affected by the introduction of a PSPO as they designed to target or address unwanted behaviour caused by a minority of residents or visitors to our District.
