In common with most areas in the UK, historical land use may have left a legacy of chemicals and substances which have the potential to harm human health, the quality of rivers, streams and ground water, sensitive ecological sites and the integrity of buildings.
It is our policy to ensure through planning controls and legislation within Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 that harm is either prevented from happening or harm currently being caused is stopped.
In accordance with the requirements of Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, relating to the maintenance of a Contaminated Land Register, we currently hold no records of contaminated land.
