Sevenoaks District Council is supporting this year’s Great British Spring Clean, run by Keep Britain Tidy.

The campaign, which runs from 13 to 29 March 2026, will see thousands of people taking action to clean up streets, parks and communities across the country.

Sevenoaks District Council is encouraging residents to take part or arrange a community clean-up event during the campaign. The Council is offering to loan litter pickers and provide waste sacks to anyone wishing to organise an event and will also collect the sacks once finished.

Residents and community groups who would like to organise a clean-up event in the Sevenoaks District should email direct.services@sevenoaks.gov.uk to arrange support. Resources are limited so people wishing to organise an event should enquire as early as possible.

Our Better Together Community Hub is working with town and parish councils to run several litter picks in Swanley and one in Edenbridge throughout the Great British Spring Clean and they include free refreshments after the event.

Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for Cleaner and Greener, Cllr Irene Roy, says: “The Great British Spring Clean is a great opportunity for us to come together and tidy up the places we care about. Even small actions like litter-picking can make a big difference to how a place feels. Whether you wish to organise your own event or take part in one already planned, there is something for everyone.

“We are very lucky to live and work in a beautiful part of the country and it’s great to see so many people take pride in where they live.”
