Kent Cricket Community Trust teamed up with Millwall Community Trust to launch an exciting new pilot summer programme focused on youth engagement.
Combining cricket and football sessions led by top-tier sports coaches, the initiative also features a specially equipped ‘youth engagement minibus’ - complete with video games and music decks. Designed to reach young people in targeted communities, the programme aims to inspire, connect, and provide enriching experiences throughout the summer.
The summer pilot programme has been made possible through the partnership between Kent Cricket Community Trust and Sevenoaks District Council.
On 5 August 2025, Sevenoaks District Council Chairman, Cllr Lynda Harrison, District Council Leader, Cllr Roddy Hogarth and Cllr Victoria Granville, Deputy Mayor of Sevenoaks Town Council, went along to a showcase session at Greatness Park in Sevenoaks, to learn more about the project and to show their support.
The partnership has enabled historic 106 funds, to be re-deployed across a range of facility investment and youth activity programmes across the town centre. Currently there is investment into creating a women and girls’ cricket hub at Sevenoaks Vine’s Otford ground, with more facility projects across other sites going through due diligence processes as we speak.
Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development and Infrastructure, Cllr Nigel Williams, says: “We’re delighted we were able to secure funding for the Kent Cricket Community Trust and that they are using it for some great initiatives.
“Cricket and football are a fantastic way for young people to keep healthy over the summer whilst making new friends.”
The sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 28 August 2025. To sign up a child, visit https://shorturl.at/ykaQa.
Sevenoaks Town Council operated Raleys Gym and was the developer of the site.
