Bradbourne Lakes Summer Festival a huge success!

Published: Tuesday, 5th August 2025

Last weekend (Saturday 2 August), over 350 visitors attended the free Bradbourne Re-Bourne Summer Festival.

The free afternoon included lots of activities, including a welcome speech from Sevenoaks District Council Chairman, Cllr Lynda Harrison, guided walks with Jonathan Fenner, a talk from Professor David Killingray on the history of the Lakes and a display from Crowborough Model Boat Club. For children, there was a bouncy castle, inflatable bowling, river crafts, and a scavenger hunt.

It was also an opportunity to find out the latest plans and updates on the National Lottery Heritage Fund ‘Bradbourne Re-Bourne’ £2.1 million project to improve the lakes.

The Council’s Cabinet Member for Cleaner and Greener, Cllr Irene Roy, says: “It was a wonderful afternoon that was well attended by locals and those wishing to find out more about the major undertaking to restore and conserve the much-loved ornamental lakes and parkland.

“The walks and talks were very informative and there were lots of engaging activities for children to get them excited about the project.”

The Bradbourne Lakes Summer Festival was funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the Bradbourne Re-bourne’ project.
