This week (Monday 12 May), Sevenoaks District ‘Better Together’ project held a special event to celebrate the charity and voluntary groups throughout the District.
Better Together was set up by Sevenoaks District Council to help charities and organisations with volunteering and community activity.
Better Together began in 2022 and since then, it has helped local people to set up many new initiatives and events as well as funding local projects.
The celebration event took place at Meeting Point in Swanley and recognised all the hard work of the voluntary sector in the community.
Organisations that have benefited from Better Together, including Bear Basics, Grow a Healthy Swanley, Svetlana Chisholm Coaching and Art Without Boundaries, talked about their work to support residents in the District.
Sevenoaks District’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says: “Better Together is a fantastic initiative that helps the volunteers, community and voluntary groups in the Sevenoaks District to thrive.
“This event was to highlight their incredible work and hear first-hand how they’re making a difference to the lives of so many people.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special day.”
