Help finding a warm space

Sevenoaks District Council has launched a directory of ‘Warm Spaces’ opening their doors to residents.

Many households are struggling with the cost of living, including the steep rise in the price of their heating and energy bills.

Individuals and families are facing tough decisions about whether and when they can heat their homes.

To help residents during this challenging time, the Council has developed a Warm Spaces directory. Warm Spaces are existing community or business places that provide a safe and friendly public space where people of all ages can go and spend time reading, studying, chatting with others and meeting new people.

Some of the venues also offer support, services and advice.

The directory is available on the Council’s website www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/warmspaces.

The directory also has a sign up form for local organisations and businesses who want to offer a Warm Space.

Cllr Lesley Dyball, the Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, says: “As winter approaches, some people may struggle to heat their homes. But, there are many free, Warm Spaces across the District where people can not only stay warm but meet others and enjoy a hot drink and activities.”
