Look out for your annual canvass forms

Residents are being urged to read their electoral registration canvass form that will be delivered in the coming days.

The form, sent by Sevenoaks District Council, ensures the electoral register is up-to-date and gives an opportunity for residents who are not registered or whose details have changed to make sure they can vote in elections or referendums.

There have been some changes to this year’s form to help simplify the process. Residents are being asked read the form carefully, follow any instructions given and take action if required.

Dr Pav Ramewal, Chief Executive and Electoral Registration Officer at Sevenoaks District Council says: “This year, the way we are updating the electoral register is changing to make it easier for residents but we need everyone to read the form carefully and take the right course of action.

“It’s important that residents keep an eye out for our form and check we have the right details to ensure you will be eligible to vote in local or national elections and referendums. If your details are incorrect and need updating, the simplest way to tell us is online .

“If you’re not currently registered to vote the easiest way to register is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, or call us and we’ll send you an application form in the post.”
