Sevenoaks Chairman receives £2,000 for chosen charity

Sevenoaks District Council Chairman, Cllr John Edwards-Winser was recently presented with a £2,000 cheque for his chosen charity, Demelza Hospice Care for Children, from the West Kent Freemasons.

The cheque was handed over at Giacomo’s restaurant in Weald on 14 November.

As well as the Sevenoaks District Council Chairman, the event was also attended by Civic Leaders from Sevenoaks Town Council, Bexley, Bromley, Dartford and Royal Tunbridge Wells. In total, the West Kent Freemasons donated £12,000 to the various charities supported.

Cllr Edwards-Winser says: “The West Kent Freemasons’ donation is a fantastic boost to my fundraising for Demelza Hospice. The charity do amazing work so I am incredibly grateful for their generous contribution.” 

The Provincial Grand Master of West Kent, Mark Estaugh, adds "We are continuing to forge ever stronger links with our local communities, and be open and transparent about our organisation and its work. We are therefore delighted to support our community leaders once again with a donation towards their individual charities."
