Sencio & the temporary closure of Edenbridge and Sevenoaks Leisure Centres and Lullingstone Park Golf Course

Sencio Community Leisure, the independent trust that operated Edenbridge and Sevenoaks Leisure Centres and Lullingstone Park Golf Course, has appointed an insolvency practitioner and ceased trading on 17 March 2023.

The decision happened suddenly when Sencio realised it could no longer meet its financial liabilities. This is extremely sad news and is a great concern for its staff, customers and suppliers.

Sencio has appointed Evelyn Partners to assist in the insolvency process. Evelyn Partners is communicating with Sencio staff, customers and suppliers and it has set up and dedicated email address sencio@evelyn.com as a point of contact for all enquiries.

We are now working with Evelyn Partners at pace to minimise the disruption caused by Sencio’s decision, so once permitted, we can reopen the leisure centres and golf course as soon as possible.

At a specially convened meeting on 23 March 2023, our Cabinet recommended we begin the process of appointing a new interim leisure provider to run the facilities for up to two years. The Cabinet also recommended we allocate up to £2 million towards the maintenance, safety and running costs of Edenbridge and Sevenoaks Leisure Centres and Lullingstone Park Golf Course under an interim leisure operator.

Our new White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley is run by Everyone Active and will continue to operate as normal. Everyone Active has offered all existing Sencio gym members free access to any of its centres from Friday 17 March for four weeks. View our  questions and answers for details.
