Community Asset Transfers: application updates

We are currently considering the second round of Community Asset Transfer requests from town and parish councils.

The requests are considered in consultation with our Disposals Policy to ensure any transferred assets promote or improve the economic, social or environmental wellbeing of District residents.

Assets that are used by us for our operations, those that are income-producing or strategic are not considered for disposal.
 

Second round decisions

At the Cabinet Meeting on 21 April 2026, Councillors agreed to the following Community asset Transfers:
 

Transfers approved:

  • The Shambles, Sevenoaks – transfer to Sevenoaks Town Council
  • Oliver Crescent, Farningham – transfer to Farningham Parish Council
  • Alban Crescent, Farningham – transfer to Farningham Parish Council
  • Saddlers Park, Eynsford – transfer to Eynsford Parish Council
  • Vernon Close, West Kingsdown – transfer to West Kingsdown Parish Council
  • Caxton Close, Hartley – transfer to Hartley Parish Council
  • Hale Lane Recreation Ground, Otford – transfer to Otford Parish Council
     

Transfers declined

  • Hollybush Park, Sevenoaks Town Council
  • High Street Market Rights, Sevenoaks Town Council
  • Land at Bradbourne Vale Road (Horses Field), Sevenoaks Town Council
     

Request to be considered at a future date:

A request to transfer the Stag to Sevenoaks Town Council will be considered by Cabinet later this year.

First round decisions

Our Cabinet agreed to transfer the following Community Assets at its meeting on 6 January 2026:

  • Bartholomew Way Park - transfer to Swanley Town Council
  • Northview Playground, Hilda May Avenue - transfer to Swanley Town Council
  • Woodview Road Park - transfer to Swanley Town Council
  • Land at Reeves Crescent - transfer to Swanley Town Council
  • Cherry Avenue Playground - transfer to Swanley Town Council
  • Otford Scout Hut - transfer to Otford Scouts Group
  • Archbishop Palace - transfer to Archbishop’s Palace Conservation Trust
