Village Design Statements (VDS) are prepared by local people to guide new development in their villages. They are used when assessing planning applications for development and other changes within these villages.
The Statements have been adopted as informal guidance by us and are being used in assessing planning applications.

Older village design statements
We have historically adopted some older Village Design Statements as informal planning guidance. These carry less weight than those adopted as SPDs.
