Applications are now open for community grants of up to £5,000

Sevenoaks District Council is once again providing grants to support the work of voluntary and charitable organisations across the District.

The Council's Community Grants scheme supports volunteer-led services within the District that help the health and wellbeing of residents.

Community groups, whether newly formed or long-standing, that fall into this category are being encouraged to apply for a grant of up to £5,000 to support their work. Successful applicants will receive their funding in April 2023.

This year, the Council has simplified the application process for smaller grants, worth up £1,000, to encourage even more voluntary and community groups to apply for pilot and start-up projects.

Cabinet Member for ‘People and Places’, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says: “Our Community Grants scheme is something we are really proud of. The funding helps dozens of voluntary and charitable groups to improve the quality of life for many, especially our vulnerable, older and younger residents.”

“I urge local groups to make the most of this wonderful opportunity so they can carry on their amazing work.”

The deadline for applications is 12noon on Thursday 3 November 2022.

Grants are for the period April 2023 to March 2024.
