VPN remote access for suppliers
Our suppliers, who have accepted our Remote Access Policy, can use Virtual Private Network (VPN) software to connect securely to our network from compliant devices. This software must be downloaded to your computer, installed and configured. Your computer must also meet basic security requirements. These include, but are not limited to:
- Operating System must be Windows 7 SP1 or newer
- Anti-Virus must be installed and up to date
- Anti-Virus database definitions must be no less than 14 days old
- Full Anti-Virus scan must have been performed in the last 14 days
- Firewall (either built-in or AV managed) must be turned on
We are currently in a transitional phase with our VPN software. We strongly advise engineers working for existing suppliers who are currently using the old Juniper Network Connect client to install the Junos Pulse client. New suppliers should download the Junos Pulse client. Junos Pulse is a lighter-weight, faster, and easier client than Juniper Network Connect.
Install and configure Junos Pulse for Windows
To connect using Junos Pulse, download the appropriate installer below and run the installer. If you already have the client installed and configured, go to Step 3.
Within the Junos Pulse client, click '+' to add a new connection with the following details:
Type: 'UAC or SSL-VPN'
Name: Sevenoaks District Council
Please fill in the online form to request remote access.
For instant access after this is completed, you can call our Service Desk on 01732 227444 and the account will be enabled with immediate effect.
To start the connection, double-click the 'Sevenoaks District Council' profile within the client. During connection you'll be prompted for your username and password.
You should now be successfully connected.
The software has been tested on the following platforms:
- Windows 10 Pro x64
- Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64
- Windows 8.1 x86
- Windows 8 Enterprise x64
- Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise x64
- Windows 7 SP1 Pro x64
Although the software is also compatible with most Windows 8.x, Windows 7 and Windows Vista operating systems, specific configurations may not work. Junos Pulse is not supported on Windows Server platforms or Linux platforms.
