Apply for a tree preservation order

To apply for a tree preservation order, please write to our Arboricultural and Landscape Officer.

Before you apply, please read the latest tree preservation guidance and legislation.

Please provide:

  • Details and location of the tree or trees that you think should be protected
  • As much detail as possible so that a full assessment can be made

Be prepared that the process may take a long period of time dependent on the urgency or the need for a protection order.

Please note that not all applications will result in a new order being served.
