Silver Sunday Spectacular

Published: Monday, 26th September 2022

To mark Silver Sunday’s 10 year anniversary, Sevenoaks District Council and Sevenoaks District Senior Action Forum are hosting a free tea and coffee morning for all residents.

Silver Sunday celebrates over 50s in the community and encourages them to take up new activities. The open morning will include live music, lawn bowls, arts and crafts, interactive session, competitions and more. There will also be a host of organisations ready for a chat about services available in the District and live speakers including founder of Silver Sunday Christabel Flight and Leader of Sevenoaks District Council, Cllr Peter Fleming.

Cabinet member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball says: “This is going to be a brilliant event for all ages but specifically the over 50s. They’ll be lots of organisations on hand to give advice on support available including Age UK, Compaid, Every Step Counts and more!”

Sevenoaks District Senior Action Forum member, Alan Dixon adds “The aim of this event is to bring everyone together and make sure over 50s in the District are getting the help they need. They’ll also be a chance to listen to great live music, socialise with other people in the community and best of all, it’s free!”

The morning takes place on Tuesday 4 October at The Olympic, Swanley, Beechenlea Lane, BR8 8DR, 10am to 2pm.
