Proposed Submission Version of the Local Plan

The 'Proposed Submission Version' of the Local Plan is our final draft of the Local Plan before it is considered by the Government's Planning Inspector.

It attempts to address the Government’s requirement to provide up to 14,000 new homes within the plan period with proposed sites for new homes, employment, health, education and other facilities.

This revised plan will be considered by our Planning Advisory Committee on Thursday 22 November 2018 then Cabinet on Thursday 6 December 2018.

Final consultation

If approved by Cabinet on 6 December, there will be a final consultation, known as a ‘Regulation 19 Publication’, starting mid-December.

The final decision to approve the Local Plan will be taken by the Planning Inspector at a public examination in 2019. If you wish to speak at the examination, which is at the Planning Inspector’s discretion, you will need to register your interest during the consultation period.

After this consultation closes, we will submit residents’ comments and the draft Local Plan to the Planning Inspector for consideration.

If approved by the Planning Inspector, the Plan could be adopted by us in late 2019 then used to help determine planning applications.
