We are currently consulting on the Proposed Submission Version of the Local Plan, together with Supplementary Planning Documents and Neighbourhood Area Designations. The consultations are open until 11:59pm on Sunday 3 February 2019.
Last chance to comment on the new Local Plan
You have a final opportunity to comment on the new Local Plan before it is considered by the Government’s Planning Inspector in the New Year.
Formally known as the 'Regulation 19 Proposed Submission Version of the Local Plan', the document includes sites for new homes and employment together with community infrastructure improvements. It also includes policies to protect the natural and historic environment as well as maintaining the Green Belt. The Local Plan will be used to help determine planning applications.
After the consultation closes, we will send your comments to the Planning Inspector for consideration.
The final decision to approve the Local Plan will be taken by the Planning Inspector during a public examination in 2019. If you wish to speak at the examination, which is at the Planning Inspector’s discretion, you will need to register your interest during the consultation period.
If approved by the Planning Inspector, the Plan could be adopted by us in late 2019.

Potential Development Sites in the Green Belt
We received a number of additional greenfield, Green Belt sites for housing after we published our Draft Local Plan for consultation. Following our initial assessments, we believe these four potential sites have social and community infrastructure benefits and would help address infrastructure needs in the area. All the sites are in the Green Belt.
You can have your say on these sites. This is separate to the 'Proposed Submission Version' of the Local Plan consultation.
The four sites are listed below with information submitted by the landowner/site promoter:
MX58 Land west of Childsbridge Lane and south of the Recreation Ground, Kemsing
MX59 Land north and south of Kemsing Station
MX61 Land south of Redhill Road, New Ash Green
MX62 Land between Hartfield Road and Hever Road, Edenbridge
Supplementary Planning Documents and Neighbourhood Plans
As well as the consultation on the Proposed Submission Version of the Local Plan, we are also consulting on a number of Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). Once adopted, they will be used to provide additional guidance to the support the policies in the Local Plan when determining planning applications.

We are also consulting on two neighbourhood area designations for the parishes of Badgers Mount and Halstead. Once these are agreed and adopted, it will enable Badgers Mount Parish Council and Halstead Parish Council to prepare Neighbourhood Plans.
