Local Elections 2 May 2019

The next District Council and Town & Parish Council elections take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.

District Council Elections

These elections are held every four years. You will live in one of 26 ‘wards’ and, depending on the ward, you can vote for between one and three Councillors.

Town and Parish Council Elections

These elections are also held every four years. The number of seat on each council varies according to the population they serve. In some parishes, it is possible no elections will be held as there will only be enough candidates to fill the available seats.

Before the elections, you’ll receive a poll card with details of your polling station or absent vote arrangement.

If you do not think you are registered to vote, please visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. You must be registered to vote by midnight on Friday 12 April 2019 to vote at the District and Town and Parish Council elections.
