Proposed changes in Otford - Amendment 22

For some time the residents of the Tudor Drive area of Otford have been experiencing problems with unwanted commuter parking in the road. The problems have been worsening as the use of Otford Station has increased and is also related to the introduction of parking charges in rural station car parks by the train operating company.

New parking restrictions
At the end of last year the District Council carried out formal consultation on new parking proposals in the Tudor Drive and Well Road areas of Otford, aimed at addressing residents concerns about commuter parking. Those responses have now been collated and assessed.

There was a high level of response, indicating that the level of feeling on this issues was of great concern to residents.  The majority of responses were in favour of the proposals, but some objections were received.

The proposals have been to the Sevenoaks Joint Transport Board and subject to a minor alteration were approved, and the restrictions are likely to be implemented later this summer.

Requests were also received for similar restrictions to be introduced in The Butts, The Old Walk and Bubblestone Road. and to address these concerns we are now promoting similar parking restrictions in those roads.
