The Blue Badge scheme operates throughout the UK and provides a range of parking benefits for people with disabilities who travel either as drivers or passengers.
The concessions only apply to on-street parking and include free use of pay-and-display bays.
Badge-holders are exempt from limits on parking times imposed on others and can park for up to three hours on yellow lines (except where there is a ban on loading or unloading or other restrictions).
The rules of the scheme are set by the Department of Transport and the Blue Badges in Kent are administered by Kent County Council Social Services.
