Improve your home energy efficiency

There are many ways you can save energy at home. Domestic energy is one of the major sources of carbon emissions in our District.

Apply for subsidised home heating and insulation

We are working to improve residents’ home energy efficiency to reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions.

We have access to ECO Funding to offer qualifying low-income households improved home insulation and heating.

A company called Aran will deliver the improvements on our behalf.

Thermal imaging camera

Our thermal imaging camera can be loaned to residents for free.

The camera detects heat energy and can show you where energy is escaping from walls, roofs, windows and doors and other places in your home.

Please contact our Private Sector Housing team to enquire about availability.

Please note, it is a very popular service and the camera is currently booked out until March 2024.

Grants for homes without gas boilers

The Home Upgrade Grant provides funding to improve insulation and heating systems for homes that do not have a gas boiler.
