Severe winter weather
We're collecting refuse as usual today (Friday 13 January 2017) but some roads may be too icy and dangerous for our freighters to visit..
If we don't reach you today, please take your sacks in and put them out again on your next collection day, unless we advise otherwise.
Our refuse vehicles weigh up to 26 tonnes and when visiting a road, we consider the risk of injury to the public and staff and damage to property, as well as the likelihood of becoming stuck, causing further disruption.
This means collections may to be restricted to main roads, bus routes and other pre-salted roads.
Road and pavement gritting and clearing
