Navigating this site
The structure of site has been been organised using the Local Government Navigation List (LGNL).
Click on a heading, you will be taken to the corresponding section and a further menu will provide details of where to find further related information. Alternatively, use the 'A to Z of Services' function located on right of every page.
To get back to the start page at any time click on the home button at the top of each page.
You can go to another section of the site via the links in the text, which are coloured light blue. When your mouse is pointing to them, they become underlined and the pointer changes to a hand. If you click with the mouse on a link it will take you to more information on that topic.
Don't worry if you go to the wrong page, if you click on Back on the Buttons bar in Internet Explorer, or View > Go to > Back. You can do this again and again, until you get back to where you want to be.
Anywhere your pointer looks like a hand rather than an arrow or I it means you can click and go somewhere else on the site.
How do I get back to this site if I leave it?
The address of our site is http://www.sevenoaks.gov.uk. If you want to come back to this site at any time, you can type in the address in the address bar and then press return on your keyboard. A good idea to save you doing this more than once, is to add this page to your favourites.
How can I find what I need?
Use the search facility at the top of any page. Type in a word in the box provided and click on the Go button. This will provide you with a list of links to relevant web pages.
Most downloadable documents available on this site are in Portable Document Format or PDF. A standard adopted by governments and organisations worldwide, PDF is a reliable format for electronic document exchange that preserves document integrity so files can be viewed and printed on a variety of platforms. We chose to make many downloadable documents in this file format for data security and integrity reasons.
In order to view a PDF document, you can use software called Acrobat Reader from a company called Adobe. You can download Acrobat Reader for free.
Throughout the site at the bottom of each page is a ‘Print’ option with a printer icon, this allows you to print a web page without the left hand menu.
