If you own or work for a business operating in the Sevenoaks District, you might be interested in the Home Office booklet,‘Your business – keep crime out of it’.
The booklet is for businesses of all types and sizes and it gives practical, down-to-earth advice to help businesses reduce the opportunity for crime. It sets out the technique used in all security surveying called the ‘onion-peeling’ principle and helps you to put in place measures that are appropriate, realistic and cost-effective. It covers security of buildings, protecting your stock, the people you work with, procedures, transporting goods and more. There is a checklist of 25 things you can do to reduce opportunities for crime, for example by increasing the effort the criminal has to make, increasing the risks he has to take and reducing the rewards of crime.
For a hard copy of the booklet please telephone the Sevenoaks District Community Safety Unit on 01732 227000.
If you would like to speak to a Crime Reduction Officer for more specific advice, you can do so by telephoning 01732 227000.
The Community Safety Partnership is currently reviewing its priorities for the forthcoming year and would like to hear what businesses think are the most important community safety issues for them and their employees at work. Please follow the link below to give us your views. We look forward to hearing from you.
