Doorstep traders
A Kent County Council Trading Standards survey has shown that 98 per cent of residents do not want doorstep traders. Many problems are associated with con men who call uninvited at consumers' homes and persuade householders to part with large sums of money for sub-standard or unnecessary work, so a hotline has been set up to report them. You can contact the KCC Contact Centre on 0845 3450 210. The office is open from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and on 9 - 2pm Saturday mornings.
