Power Project

The Power Project
The Power ProjectThe Power Project is a project for
YOU and about YOU

The Power Project is being run for young people who live in the Sevenoaks District  and the boroughs of Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge & Malling.  It aims to work with young people who are at risk of becoming involved in anti social and criminal activity.  The project will offer young people support and encouragement to make positive choices about their future.

Why the Power Project?

'Power' is about the ability to do something or to influence the course of events.  The project aims to open up opportunities for you to try new things, explore your interests and also help you to look at areas you might like to change in your life.

What will you do on the project?

If you have been referred to the project, someone you have been in contact with is concerned about you and feels you could benefit from the support the project offers.

If you and project staff agree that the project can help you then you will be allocated a project worker.  You and the worker will jointly agree a personal action plan.

The action plan will set personal goals for you to work towards while you are on the project.  The plan will be individual to you.  It will enable you to explore your talents and your interests.

In order to achieve your goals your worker will put you in touch with activities in the local community, and provide support and help when it is needed.  At times, you may agree to take part in a programme to help you to resolve difficulties more specific to you.  There may also be opportunities for you to try new exciting activities or work towards gaining awards.

How long does the project last?

It will depend on what you have agreed with your project worker.  Some young people may be involved for a short period and may only see their worker a couple of times.  As a guide, each action plan will last up to three months.

What happens after the project?

After your action plan has finished, you and your worker will review your progress and agree what future support you want that will allow you to build on your progress.

You will also have the opportunity to help us to develop our work by providing feedback on how you found the project and what worked for you.
