How are we doing?
Every three months, the Community Safety Partnership monitors progress on its 2008 to 2011 strategy.
Below is a summary of the latest progress report for April 2010 to June 2010

Working together over last three months the Partnership reported the following progress up until June 2010:
- There were 1,320 crimes in the District from April to June 2009 and 1231 during the same period in 2010, a reduction of 6.7%
- The use of DNA based property marking has been widely encouraged across the Sevenoaks District and is endorsed by West Kent Police
- A target area in Sevenoaks was identified by Kent Police to be most suitable for a CCCZ, and as a result, Neighbourhood Watch schemes have been launched in the area
- The Community Domestic Abuse Programme has been really successful with an average group size of eight men with a mixture on Probation orders and men from the community. A support group has also been set up for men who have finished on the programme, but value continued support.
- During Op Restore week (17 to 22 May 2010) 154 leather saddles were marked using the Safer Stables scheme as part of Op Restore. The locations attended were in the Edenbridge and Sevenoaks areas
- The alcohol clinics are still proving to be well attended in Otford and Swanley.
- There are now 12 PACTs operating in the District: Brasted, Sundridge & Ide Hill, Hextable, Dunton Green, Westerham, Edenbridge, Swanley, Badgers Mount, Shoreham & Well Hill, Horton Kirby & South Darenth, West Kingsdown, Crockenhill and Kemsing.
- 8-12s projects continue to be delivered in Swanley, Sevenoaks, West Kingsdown and New Ash Green
- Kent Community Alcohol Partnership (KCAP) is conducting regular licensing visits in Swanley and Hextable
- The Community Safety Unit, was launched in September 2009. Residents can report anti-social behaviour, graffiti, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, intimidation, drugs problems, hate crime, noise and other nuisance, joy-riding or rowdy behaviour by calling 01732 227000 or e-mailing community.safety@sevenoaks.gov.uk
