Local people are being reminded that they have just over a fortnight to have their say on how Sevenoaks District can be developed and protected over the next 16 years.
Residents of the District have until Thursday 25 March to comment on Sevenoaks District Council’s Local Development Framework Core Strategy and the Allocations Development Plan Document – two important planning documents dealing with development in the District up until 2026.
The Core Strategy proposes what development will happen, where it will happen, when it will take place and what requirements it has to meet.
It also includes how the Council will meet Government housing targets and how it will protect employment and Green Belt land.
The Allocations Development Plan Document sets out individual sites across the District that are being considered for development for new housing and employment sites.
Both documents are available on the Council’s website, www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/ldf. Alternatively they can be viewed at any of the libraries in the District, or at the Council Offices in Sevenoaks. Copies are also available to purchase at the Council Offices.
Cllr Jill Davison, Sevenoaks District Council's Cabinet member with responsibility for Strategic Planning, says: "These important documents will help shape the future of the District. They meet the District's housing target while continuing to protect the Green Belt. I would urge any of our residents, who we know care greatly about the District, to continue to give us their views."
