Explore the Heart of Kent

News release issued on 02 July 2010

Residents can explore and find out more about the history and local attractions on their doorstep with the publication of a new guide.

The Sevenoaks in the Heart of Kent guide has details of the District's places to visit and countryside parks, nature reserves and walks.

Places to visit include Hever Castle and Gardens, Otford Heritage Centre, Knole and the Eden Valley Museum. Sevenoaks has links to literary greats including Jane Austen, HG Wells, Daniel Defoe and Charles Dickens.

All this information is in one place to make it easier for people to find out what the District has on offer. The guide was compiled and edited by Sevenoaks District Council.

Cllr Pat Bosley, Sevenoaks District Council's Cabinet Member with responsibility for Tourism, says: "We live in a fantastic area with so much to offer and so much history. We are moving into warmer weather and it is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors. For a great day out pick up the Sevenoaks in the Heart of Kent guide and explore what's on offer."

The Sevenoaks in the Heart of Kent guide is available from all local tourist information centres, visitor information points and libraries. Residents can also get a copy from Sevenoaks District Council offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 1HG.
