Dunton Green residents have their say at PACT

News release issued on 11 January 2010

Dunton Green residents have an opportunity to highlight issues and priorities at the next PACT meeting at the Dunton Green Pavilion from 6.30pm on Wednesday 20 January.

PACT stands for Partners and Community Together and PACT Panels are made up of local residents, Kent Police, Sevenoaks District Council and other agencies that work to make the area safer. They meet on a regular basis to enable the community to identify areas of concern in their community.

Residents who would like to attend the meeting should contact Tracy Godden, Dunton Green Parish Clerk, on 01732 462966 or e-mail clerk@dgpc.org.uk.

At the previous meeting on 18 November 2009, issues raised included facilities for young people, highway concerns, policing and community information.

Since the meeting, a new Neighbourhood Watch scheme has been set up in Lennard Road, a group of young people have successfully bid for funding for a project to improve lighting at the recreation ground and PCSO Hardy continues to provide a visible presence in the area, speaking with residents about their concerns.

There has also been less reported graffiti in the area. Graffiti can be reported to Sevenoaks District Council by calling 01732 227000, by e-mailing community.safety@sevenoaks.gov.uk or on line at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk. Once the Council has established who owns the affected site, it can contact the landowner and arrange for the graffiti to be removed.
