Residents will soon receive some important documents when voter registration forms are posted through their letterbox.
2011 will be a busy year with District and Parish Council elections and a referendum on the voting system all taking place on 5 May.
Sevenoaks District Council will send out voter registration forms from 31 August 2010 and details can once more be confirmed online, by free phone or by using the popular text service, all of which saves bringing or sending the forms back to the Council.
A simple help sheet that explains how to use these services and answers the most frequently asked questions will be enclosed with the registration form.
Residents who don't want to lose their chance to vote in the forthcoming elections shouldn't delay in responding to the form. Only those people whose names are on the register will be able to vote.
