The details of the candidates who will be contesting the Kent County Council and European Elections on Thursday 4 June have been published.
Details of the candidates who will be contesting the Hartley Parish by-election on the same day have also been released.

Kent County Council has 84 elected members, seven of whom represent Sevenoaks District.
One councillor be elected to each of the following electoral divisions in Sevenoaks District: Darent Valley, Sevenoaks Central, Sevenoaks East, Sevenoaks North East, Sevenoaks South, Sevenoaks West and Swanley.

Currently there are 78 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) representing the UK; after the 2009 elections there will be 72 UK MEPs.
The UK is divided into 12 regions, and each region has between three and 10 MEPs. Sevenoaks falls within the South-East Region for which there are 10 MEPs.

Resident not registered to vote must do so by 19 May, and voter registration forms can be downloaded by going to www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/elections or by contacting the Electoral Services Team by e-mailing elreg@sevenoaks.gov.uk or calling 01732 227188 or 01732 227243.
Residents can also apply for a postal vote or a proxy vote. The deadline for postal vote applications is also 5pm on 19 May and the deadline for proxy vote applications is 5pm on 27 May.
