03 September 2010Exclusive sports taster sessions for men are coming to the Edenbridge Leisure Centre from next week.
For just £1.50 per person (upon presentation of a flyer at reception) a range of sports will be available to try including football, squash, table tennis and badminton.
These sessions take place on Wednesday 8 July and Wednesday 15 July from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, and are an opportunity for men to try something new and possibly get involved in a fun activity on a regular basis.
There is no booking required, anyone can just turn up on the day, either with mates or on your own to give an activity a go. For those that enjoy the sessions, there will be an opportunity to feedback to the Leisure Centre and become involved in an activity on a regular basis.
Cllr Pat Bosley, Sevenoaks District Council member with responsibility for healthy living, says: "Modern lifestyles can be hectic these days and these sessions have been organised to give men the chance to unwind from work and family commitments, meet new friends, socialise with old friends and look after their health."
By popular request, these sessions have been organised by Sencio Community Leisure, in partnership with Edenbridge Childrens Centre and are supported by Sevenoaks District Council.
Funding has been provide by Sencio Community Leisure and NHS West Kent as part of the National Choosing Health agenda which aims to make healthy choices easier.

Notes for editors
The cost of the session will be £1.50 per person upon presentation of a flyer at reception. Flyers can be picked up via any local community venue such as Bridges, Edenbridge Library, the Leisure Centre or Childrens Centre.
If no flyer is presented the cost of the sessions with be £3 per person.
