Young people can 'Jump In' to Christmas

News release issued on 07 December 2009

Young people can make a splash in the run to the festive season when the Christmas Jump-In pool party comes to White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley.

The popular party, run for eight to 14 year olds, takes place on Saturday 19 December 2009 from 6pm to 8pm. Tickets cost £5 each.

Places are limited and following the success of previous sell out events, the Council is advising that tickets be purchased early to avoid disappointment.  Tickets are available in advance from White Oak Leisure Centre.

The party will feature Jump-In pool party favourite DJ Ignition who will be playing the latest in dance and chart music. There will be a chance to win £20 of high street vouchers on the night and the Sencio café will be open with special offers. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay during the evening.

Cllr Pat Bosley, Sevenoaks District Council Cabinet member with responsibility for healthy living, says: "Jump-In parties are proving to be a big hit with our younger residents as they are a fantastic way to improve fitness in a fun-filled environment. This event always sells out quickly, so I'd advise anyone whose interested in going to get their ticket in advance to avoid disappointment."

For more information about the party, call Sevenoaks District Council on 01732 227000 or visit www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/health.

Jump-In pool parties are held at leisure centres across the Sevenoaks District offering young people a chance to improve their fitness whilst having fun.

This initiative has been organised by Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with Sencio Community Leisure and is funded by NHS West Kent as part of the National Choosing Health agenda, which aims to make healthy choices easier.
