Banish those bingo wings and puncture that spare tyre this summer!

News release issued on 23 July 2008

If you want to workout those wobbly bits and tighten your torso this summer the 'Get Sorted' team can help.

It can be an effort getting back into exercise, or taking the first steps towards trying something new, but the Get S.O.R.T.ed (Sevenoaks Outreach Team) team can get you motivated again and help to find you something you enjoy.

Get S.O.R.T.ed provides free individual help and advice on anything to do with exercise and food. There is no need to book, you can just turn up and have a chat to one of the team. You will even get a call a few weeks later with offers of further advice, encouragement and support, if you want it.

The Get S.O.R.T.ed team are aiming to visit a number of venues in the District and are currently visiting venues in the Swanley area.

So if you want to banish those ‘bingo wings’ on your arms or puncture that spare tyre around your waist the team will be at the following locations in Swanley in the coming weeks:

Asda

Swanley Library

Swanley Park Cafe Area

White Oak Leisure Centre

Cllr Elaine Bracken, Sevenoaks District Council Cabinet member with responsibility for healthy living, says: “If you want to find something you will enjoy and get you motivated this summer then pay a visit to the Get S.O.R.T.ed team. With a wealth of information at their fingertips they will be able to give you all the support you need, and of course it is totally free!”

The Get S.O.R.T.ed initiative is organised by Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with Sencio Community Leisure and funded by West Kent Primary Care Trust.
