Residents of the District are being reminded that there is still a chance for them to learn more about local wildlife and biodiversity at a special workshop this week.
Spaces are still available on the Summer Wildlife Workshop which takes place this Thursday (24 July) from 7pm to 9pm at Sevenoaks Community Centre on Cramptons Road, Sevenoaks.
The event is part of a series of workshops held by Sevenoaks District Council and will give advice and tips on how to attract and protect local wildlife, including talks on butterflies and garden ponds.
This workshop is the second in a series of four seasonal workshops to give information and support wildlife throughout the year as part of the “Go Wild” scheme.
This initiative also offers free information packs and a series of Wildlife Walks during the summer.
Cllr Avril Hunter, Sevenoaks District Council cabinet member with responsibility for sustainable development, says: “This workshop is invaluable for those who have an active interest in the natural environment, as well as those who just want to find out more. It is totally free as well, so why not come along?"
Places on the Summer Wildlife Workshop are still available. Residents interested in attending the free workshop should call Simon Davies at Sevenoaks District Council on 01732 227374 or e-mail sus.dev@sevenoaks.gov.uk.
