A fresh approach to tackle homelessness in the West Kent area will be launched on 4 February.
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council and Sevenoaks District Council, with the assistance of stakeholders and service users, have joined forces to launch a homelessness strategy after reviewing homelessness in their areas during 2006-2007.
All three authorities approved the strategy at the end of last year and are now looking to move the strategy forward with the help of their partners.
By jointly working together the councils believe that they can have a greater impact on the problem than by just working alone.
Bob Lawrence from Communities and Local Government, Carolyn McVittie from Kent Community Housing Trust, and Robin Cahill from the Kent Supporting People Team will be speaking at the launch. There will also be group discussions on the following topics:
Those attending the launch include stakeholders, officers and Portfolio Holders from all three authorities.
